HOW I’M USING MY OILS TODAY

Nearly two weeks ago I started a no dairy, no refined sugar, no white carbs thing. The first few days my body was having a “what the hell is going on?” moment. Tired much?! Surprisingly, I managed to distract myself from junk within the first 6 days which is HUGE for me. I’ve had a few cheat moments which disappoints me but I’ve been feeling a little run down lately with all the mum duties so I allowed myself a few indulgences. Noah brought a cold home from school which for me has turned into a chest infection. Ouch. So this week I’ve been experimenting with healthy snacks for my sweet tooth and a daily detox using the oils, apple cider vinegar and good quality manuka honey. Trying to avoid the dreaded antibiotics by making my own capsules using on guard, oregano and lemon.

immune boosting + germ fighting capsule for colds & infections :

1 x dōTERRA veggie cap available here

2 x drops on guard

2 x drops oregano

2 x drops lemon

Taken every few hours with water preferably with food.

On guard contains wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary. It builds up immunity and assists your body with fighting viral and bacterial threats. It can be diffused, taken internally and applied (diluted as it’s a hot oil) topically.

Oregano is powerful and extremely potent. It’s helpful against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I apply it directly to my tonsils using a cotton bud if I’ve got a sore throat. I would steer clear of this oil whilst pregnant and if you were to apply it to the skin it definitely needs to be diluted.

Lemon is one of the most popular dōTERRA essential oils as it’s good for so many things. In this case it’s a great antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant and detoxifier. It also helps with congestion, emotional balance and stress. Can be used internally, aromatically and topically.

daily detox drink :

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon honey/manuka honey

2 drops lemon oil

2 drops ginger oil

1 drop cinnamon

250ml warm water

I’ve been drinking this every morning for almost two weeks. My main reason for doing this is because the body stores toxins in fat to keep harmful substances away from organs and I know I’m still carrying a little baby weight so why not hit all angles of better health by reducing sugar and dairy and detoxing at the same time. I’ve also had problems with a candida overgrowth in my tummy which unfortunately most people have without even realising. Candida overgrowth symptoms range from headaches, infertility, poor concentration, sugar cravings, fatigue, skin/nail infection, eczema, thrush, weak immune system, depression, anxiety and bloating. Candida is a type of yeast that grows in the body and disrupts the balance of good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. Not pleasant at all.

I’ll be posting two new recipes for those of you with sweet teeth shortly!
